Meet The Pastor

Welcome to the website of Thomaston Assembly of God!

My name is Kevan Fortier, and I am the pastor of TAG. I sincerely hope you will take the opportunity to visit us in person. Here at TAG you will find a family of devoted followers of Jesus Christ that seeks guidance from the Holy Spirit for power, wisdom and courage to speak the truth in love, all while supporting our local community.

Before we meet in person, I will tell you a little about myself. I became a Christian in my late 20’s and have had many seemingly disconnected experiences that show how God works all things together for good.

My formal education has been through Liberty University with a B.S. in Religion, a Masters in both Pastoral Counseling and Divinity with Chaplaincy focus, and a Doctorate in Ministry with cognate in PTSD.

As you can see, I love being a student of the Word. I was also blessed to serve many years as the Associate Pastor for the Lincoln County Assembly of God under my mentor and friend Pastor Tom Wagers. While acting as Associate Pastor at LCAG, I also held the position of Chaplain at the Maine State Prison, and as Chaplain with the Maine Army National Guard. God then called me to minister at TAG where I have ministered since 2017. In 2022, I left the Prison Chaplaincy to become Chaplain for Pen Bay Medical Center.

I am happy to serve at TAG alongside my wife Amanda, and my two lovely (adult) daughters Autumn and Phebe. Our desire is to bring people to a saving faith and living relationship with Jesus Christ, and for people everywhere to be saved (see 1 Timothy 2:3-7).

I look forward to meeting you! Blessings,

Kevan Fortier
